What's the minimum setup to get started? [duplicate]

How do I start? I have so many questions I don't even know where to start.

  • Do I need a wallet first?
  • Do I need a "miner" client first?
  • Are them the same thing? Or one includes the other?
  • Do I need to register somewhere?
  • Can I use any OS (win, mac, linux)?
  • Do I need to install some specific compiler (python, nodejs, you name it)?

Can someone share their own experience, how did you guys got started?
